The Nursery

It's all done! Now all we need is a baby! :) All of our furniture arrived on Christmas Eve. What perfect timing because James' parents had just arrived and his dad helped put it all together. It looks perfect. We still have a few things we need to hang on the walls, but other than that, it's DONE!

Bedding

I finally picked the crib bedding! I found it on beyondbedding.com, and then ordered from ebay. I've never ordered from ebay before and it was fun! I got a GREAT deal on it and it's brand new, never been used! It comes with everything on the crib (quilt, crib skirt, sheets, pillow), the window valance, the diaper stacker, and the toy bag. It's too cute!

2 Months til Baby Adams!

and we are trying to get everything ready! Which is hard to do when you fracture a ligament in your ribs! So I have been coughing and sneezing for the past 6 weeks and have tried every medication my dr. has given me. Nothing has really worked. On Weds. night I was laying on the couch watching tv when I had a huge coughing fit. I felt something pop followed by SERIOUS pain in my left rib cage. I couldn't move without a burning pain. So I called James and he left to come home, and then I called the HOB b/c I didn't know what to do. Luckily Bob was home and came over to help. Meanwhile, as James was driving home, he called his boss' wife who lives near us, to come check on me. It was like a sitcom with everyone trying to help me! :)

(Oh, and I just happened to be wearing James' Big Event shirt from college. The nurses' all though I had a t-shirt made for Baby A's "Big Event"! It was hilarious!)

We called my dr. and she told us to head to the ER. So we did, and it turns out that I probably fractured a ligament or something like that. They didn't want to do an x-ray b/c of the baby. I got some pain pills and they sent me home. So I have been resting for the past 2 days and I am feeling a lot better. I still need help to get up, sit down, etc, but it doesn't hurt nearly as bad. They also gave me an inhaler and nasal spray which is helping with the cough. Seriously, this pregnancy stuff is hard!!!

James stayed home with me yesterday though, and got a lot more work done on the nursery. It's almost done!

32 weeks - watch out for the big ol belly! :)

Update

Well, James is making a lot of progress on the nursery!! He has worked all weekend (with a lot of help from Bob) and it is looking good. He framed out the window, painted the ceiling, sanded and painted all of the moldings, and textured and painted the walls! We went with a peachy color. It will look great with the dark wood crib and pink and brown bedding. So it would be great to post some pictures, right? Well our stupid camera is NOT working!!! And then James tried to fix it, and I think he just completely broke it. So we are adding that to our list of things to buy ASAP. :) I will hopefully be able to post some pictures soon!

WOW!!! The baby shower last weekend was absolutely amazing. Thank you thank you thank you to the best shower hostesses ever, Heather, Kristen, Michelle, and Glenda. It was so wonderful to be surrounded by all of our family and friends. We are so blessed to have such support and love!!!! It was so much fun. :)

Canton! (and a new LARGE belly pic)

I went on my first Canton trip yesterday and it was so much fun! Michelle, our Canton expert, was our guide and helped me find tons of cute baby stuff. My main goal was to find a diaper bag and I did. I love it! So, can you tell that my theme is pink and brown?? :)

Canton was a blast and I actually managed to walk around and shop for 8 hours. My feet are pretty swollen today though (nice!) and I can barely walk. But it was worth it!

And even though this picture is sideways, look how big I've gotten! Yikes!!

Shopping for Baby

I can't wait to read to our baby. James and I both love to read and hope our little girl will too. So I'm starting to compile some of my favorite books for her. (I also picked up some new books for me. Candace Bushnell's new book came out today, One Fifth Avenue!)

And of course I've started shopping. There are cute little girl clothes everywhere!!! :) I'm going to Canton for the first time next weekend and I know I'll find a lot more adorable things!

2 Years in the Making . . .

It took a few years, but we finally have our new kitchen!! We had the countertops installed last week and James just finished in the backsplash. It looks great and we no longer have a door as a countertop! :)

Now, on to the next project. The nursery! Yikes!

Week 20 Sonogram

We had a different sonogram technician this time, and she wasn't as good as the other one we had. She gave us at least 20 pictures, but this was the clearest one. You couldn't even tell what you were looking at in the other ones! But at least we got an updated picture! :) She's getting so big.

I'm starting to feel her kick a lot now. She loves to start kicking when I lay down to watch tv. It's the neatest little feeling!!

It's A . . .

GIRL!!!!!

Looks like the vote was wrong! We have a daughter!!! We're so excited and can't wait to meet her. She is perfectly healthy and everything looks normal. She is also very active! She kept moving her arm and "waving" during the sonogram. :) I will post those pictures when we scan them in. Now we can get started on the nursery!!!

5 Month Belly Pic

So, here I am at 5 months along. I can no longer fit into my regular clothes and I get to wear all of the beautiful maternity clothes! :) It felt like I grew over night. But now I look pregnant, and it's really fun to have others comment about my belly and the baby.

Tomorrow we find out what the sex is! I really have no idea either way. We'll see!!!!!

July 28

I went to the doctor yesterday for my 4 month checkup. We tried to hear the heartbeat, but the baby was moving around too much to get a clear sound. So we got to do a sonogram, just to check in on the baby! At the next checkup in 4 weeks we will find out the sex. I can't wait!

Some pictures . . .

Now that I've learned how to post, here are some pictures! The first one is our 6 week ultrasound pic. The second two are from 10 weeks. It's amazing what happens in 4 weeks! We can't wait for the next one in 5 weeks, when we'll get to find out if we're having a boy or girl!!!

Last weekend we went to Corgan's annual Summer Costume party, and going with the pregnant theme, decided to be the couple from Juno. It was hilarious!!!

My First Blog!

Well, I started a blog! I'm not sure if my life is exciting enough to write about, but I'll try! ;) I was just going to send Kristen my first belly pictures, and thought why not just start a blog for others to see them if they want to. I mean, who doesn't like looking at pictures of me, right??! :) Maybe I'll put James and Baby Adams in a few of them too!

So here is my almost 4 month belly. I don't really look pregnant, just like I had a really big lunch.

Other than that, I am feeling SO much better. I haven't gotten sick in a week, and my headaches aren't nearly as bad. I did learn from one of my Baby Magazines that eating hot dogs can cause headaches in pregnant ladies. Who knew? And we did cook out last weekend, so I think that might have been the cause. (No matter what Caroline says, we all can't feel perfect like you while we're pregnant!!)

Okay, I'm going to post this and see if it works. Thanks for reading!
